This weekend I went to Dallas to see friends, celebrate a birthday, and see two great people get married. It was a fabulous weekend! Here's a short list of some things I did:
1. I met a cat, named Jack, who's owner insists on telling him he's sexy on a daily basis. I think he's kind of getting a big head about it, either that or he's growing a lot of hair....
2. I saw the repercussions of ONE electrical truck blocking 30 feet of a highway = MILES of backed up traffic. We were ALMOST late to the wedding, almost, but thanks to Mandy's Nascar-super-speed-driving-skills, we made it right before the bridesmaids walked down. This is nothing new to me, but this was a first for Mandy. Way to go outside your box Mandy!!
3. I witnessed an amazing couple get married. They're young, but God's hand is obviously upon them and it's encouraging to see the miracle of what happens when God brings two people together.
4. I ate at the oh-so-yummy California Pizza Kitchen. I had eaten they're before but it had been years and it was de-licious. Pizza Hut is just not going to cut it now.
5. I saw the "Gridiron Gang" with the noisest, rowdiest bunch of high school students ever! In the words of the immortal Stephanie Tanner "How rude!" -- Here's what I thought about the movie: The Rock is in very good shape, and he's pretty good looking if you don't mind a couple of super-cut calves... Also, I would definitely abide by the PG-13 movie rating, the coach in the movie has quite a potty mouth.. mmmhmmm. but it was a good story and a true one.
6. I got to spend time with some great friends, Erin, Kate, and Mandy and it made me miss having friends in town...
So, that was the long and short..err...short of my weekend. Did I do any homework? NO. Do I have a test on Tuesday? Yes. Did I take a nap today and watch Gilmore Girls (I just got the 6th season on DVD--)? Yes! Do I have senoritis? --A resounding yes from the choir loft confirms it.
Thanks to the super-fab Mandy Allison who shared her bed, was my taxi driver and sacrificed sleep to get me to the airport on time this weekend!
